Movie
Today in class we still continued watching the India movie and as we continue to watch it, it becomes more and more emotional and sad about how their life was when they were little and how awful they were treated and the conditions they were in were not sanitary at all. I really like the movie and cant wait to watch the ending.

Differences between US and India
Difference between United States and India: Today we started watching a movie about life in Maubi India and how life there is much different then here in the United States and it really makes you realize how different it is and how lucky we are here to have freedom.
India:
Covered in trash
Bathing in rivers
trading for money
NO electricity
Getting food in piles of trash
Fighting and attacks
NO parents, they just wander around
Police torture kids and adults
Schools crowded
United States:
Have electricity
Showers and baths
go to food stores
wars using bombs
we have parents and guardians to watch over us
Police don't torture, and try to help us
Schools for the most part are comfortable

Their fair and ancient tone,
Resounds6in us our noble goal7
Throughout our entire lives.

Culture
Today in class we started talking about culture and how it influences our lives from little. First we looked at a map of the United States and saw the different areas where people call soft drinks like... Coke, pop, soda, or other. It was really interesting to me because i thought that everyone just called it soda. But there are other names for it. We also talked about how our parents influence and teach us ways and we follow for the most part what they do, like religion and more. I'm interested to learn more about this unit.

Cancer Awareness Day
Today in class we went to the cancer awareness tables upstairs, i learned a lot about different kinds of cancer. i learned that you should give yourself a self examination at least once a month. You should always wear sunscreen while your out in the sun. Eating red meat is bad for you, you should stay away from hot dogs, bacon, and salami. You should also workout and have a healthy diet to stay healthy. drinking alcohol can cause cancer also. The last thing that i learned was tanning gives you a 75% chance of getting skin cancer. I enjoyed listening to the speakers and it will make me take care of my skin and stay healthier.
